Night Vision Looking for best option to add a dovetail to a PVS14 AA battery model to work with Wilcox Flip Mount

Looking at the
Wilcox AN/PVS-14 Helmet/Weapon Mount Shoe
or the
RQE OSS - Obverse Shoe Set 1/4-20 Weapon Mountable Bottom Shoe. Problem with the RQE seems to be that it only comes in a set. So you have to buy the float mount along with the weapons mount.

Anyone have experience with these to say which is the better option. Helmet mounting this PVS14 is not needed.

I hear you but this shoe is for an older ITT dual AA which has better recoil rating
