My grandpa recently passed away at the age of 93 and left me a Marlin 336 chambered in a 35 Remington. He used this same rifle for years hunting whitetail in south GA-rifle is probably 50
years old. I have been hunting this same lease for the past 5 years lugging around an AR-10 in 308 which has proved quite heavy and cumbersome considering most shots come up quick and are within 40 yards. After doing some research on the caliber, many say it’s an awesome round for woods hunting deer. I can say that all hunting is done from tree stands and heavy wooded area in South GA. I’m not to sure about the condition of the rifle or the scope, I’m suppose to get the rifle in the next week or two. I know the caliber doesn’t have the best ballistics in long range, but most shots are under 75 yards.
Im just looking for expierience or opinions on the 35 Remington round for whitetail hunting. Thx guys
