I’m fixing to pickup the Tikka T3X in 6.5 Creedmoor. It will be the 20” barrel. My intentions are to use it mainly for coyote and deer hunting, with some target shooting in between. Most target shooting will probably be much less than 1,000 yards. With all that said, I’m looking for recommendations on a good scope. I would like to stay around 400 or less.

Thanks for any input!

If you could swing a hundred more dollars, I would get the Weaver tactical 3-15 at Natchez or eBay.
There is some China stuff running in your price range that seems to get pretty good reviews. If I had to choose one of those I would get the primary arms, athlon, bsa mil mil, falcon type of scope. That particular style and erector assembly seems to be robust enough and tracks pretty good. Honestly doesn’t matter which brand, because they are all basically the same inside, reticles are just different.
I would go for the Japanese build scopes personally. The Weaver tactical 3-10x40 can be had for 200$, with a 20 moa rail it will get you to 1000 and you can’t find a better scope for 200$.

Athlon Talos BTR 4-14x44.

Best reticle in this price range, all .2's, and FFP. The reticle has crisscrossing hashes that are easier to see on low magnification and the scope has illumination for lower light conditions which makes the reticle stand out even more.

Thanks for all the responses. I looked through several last night at bass pro. Has anyone heard anything about the Oculus pro team HD? I liked the looks of it and it only ran around $250. Just don’t know anything at all about them.

If I was in market in that price range Id look at the Sightmark Citadel 3-18. Usable mil reticle and Locking turrets. I havent used one but the Pinnacle line gets good reviews. Maybe someone here has used a citadel..
Seems promising. Carry on.
