New to the forum old to the craft. If any of you folks know where I might find A firing pin with cocking piece, for a Winchester pre 64 model 70 I would greatly appreciate some help. It's for a long bolt .30-06. A family hierloom belonged to my father, Special Forces Delta, 6 tours Viet Nam passed down to this 22 year retired (squid) Navy Specwar, Iraq vet.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Looking for Winchester Pre 64 Model 70 Firing pin

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the help, so far so have already tried most of those you have mentioned. Numrich (out of stock), Brownells has a cocking piece(supposed to be factory replacement) but no firing pin to match factory replacement. Wisnersinc, got an email from Eric this morning, hasn't made them in 5 years, sold the last one 2 years ago. E-gunparts.com same company as Numrich. Old western Scrounger, no joy. I have found Ones made by Tubbs. Seperate firing pin and cocking piece, but I would rather stay with a factory one if at all possible. Last resort, I'll have to do Tubbs. That together runs around $117 through MidwayUSA. The stock firing pin that I have is a 2 piece but it will not come apart, there is no pin holding it together. NO threads, so I'm guessing it's a press fit. In the mean time I guess I'll keep swimmin.

Re: Looking for Winchester Pre 64 Model 70 Firing pin

OK checked it out, it is missing the cocking piece. The stock winchester part is usually as one unit. After market parts that I have seen come as 2. MIne shows no sign of a roll pin holding the cocking piece to the firing pin. No sign of them being threaded together, my "guess" is a press fit, they visually are two separate pieces of metal but are machined so close together that they appear as one. So I emaile dthe seller about a cocking piece. we shall see.......thanks again
