So please let me explain this a little furthur before I get flammed for not looking up parralex and diopter focus(which is what I think my problem is.....)
I went to the range yesterday for the first time with my new scope (SS 5-20 HD). I mounted the scope for proper eye relief and adjusted the diopter by setting the mag to 20x and the parralex to infinity. Pointing the scope at a cloudless sky I repeatedly looked away and repositioned the diopter until the reticle looked very focused as soon as I looked through the scope. So I thought I was done........
Here is my problem and question. Shooting at 100 yards at 12 power and after only 20 rounds I noticed that I was loosing focus on the target periodically. If I closed my other eye for a moment the target would come into focus again. Through this the reticle would stay perfectly in focus. I did adjust the parallex to see if it was set properly and it was. So was my eye having trouble focusing on both the reticle and target because the diopter wasn't set properly?
I appreciate any and all help provided.
Shooting conditions:
Clear and sunny day, moderately windy, 40 deg.
