looks like montana is going in the shitter nowhere in FL

I hear you the crowds are wearing thin on me and I'll sell my home here one of these days and get south and east of I75(near parents) to get away from the Tampa level nuts. Escaping the crowds will only be a part time gig though b/c Florida is taking in over 1,100 people per day as of June 2023.....it's just going to get more and more crowded.

yep 1K/day. seeing it up here in semi rural no.cent too. gainesville especially and ocala are psycho. citrus has been growing wild even since 80s-a retirement mecca.
Over 4 million a year moving to Florida? That can't be right.

Ok, just checked. It's not even close to right. Florida added only 3 million over an entire decade.

Started in massive chunks in 2020:

More recent stats from this year show it's up over 1,200/day:

How'd you come up with 4 million annually?

I'm just curious where you checked that said it wasn't? This has only been one of the biggest stories in the news the past 3 years with people fleeing blue states for FL. Where did it tell you that many people aren't coming here?
No, no, no. I literally put the decimal point in the wrong place and concluded, "That can't be right!" Well, it wasn't. Bad math. A simple mistake.

not sure if some of the rural areas out west like Montana or Wyoming will be suitable for aviation commuting. Maybe some other pilots can share some insight.

If you own your own plane it's easy!

I'm in the middle of nowhere. I'm 2-3 hours from 3 international airports. But, 2 hours is about a 100 miles on a 2 lane highway with 70mph speed limits. It's not 20 miles of traffic going 15-30mph.

I'm also 2 hours from a Walmart. Which is awesome.

And BTW, the US is the largest producer of oil right now last time I checked.

But are we independent.

I can only hope we're just sitting on it, saving it for the end, and refuse to sell anything petroleum putting the rest of the world into a stone age....

I mean, wishful thinking because China will own it all, but I'm going to dream.

Depending on the situation... There are many, many "registered airports" where there is just one plane, the owners. Evidently it is easy to register a property as an airport.
The challenges of winter are something to consider.

Apparently none of those Californians want to pay their “fair share.” 😂 Typical socialism for thee not me.

Like old GreenGo, run to the sanctuaries where men who fear God create a life for themselves, founded on God’s wisdom. And then, spew your wisdom like brucellosis, and make things “better” like wolves.
