I was playing around with my ballistics calculator today, got bored and figuring some loophole distances for different ranges, it got me thinking.

Has anyone incorporated loopholes into any PRS/NRL22/etc matches?

What's a loophole stage?

With a calculator
For a 550yrd shot, set your scope zero range to that 550yrds

Next in your ballistics table, set 1yrd steps, careful with the max range, set it too high with 1yrd steps and it can crash some of the software.

Next on the table see where you go from negative to positive, that’s where you need to be aft of the loophole, here it would be 12.5yrds, so if you can get 12.5 behind you could use a VERY small loophole

Now if you can only get 5yrds aft of the loophole, look at the table, and that will dictate how big the hole has to be

How do I replicate? 😁

So, looking at your chart and using a .224 bullet, at 6 yards, the center of the bullet will be 1 inch under my point of aim. If the box is 1.5 inches tall and i hold my point of aim at 1/4in below the top of the box, i theoretically have about 1/8 inch leeway under my bullet?

I had to read that a few times, and reference both my fingers and toes lol, sounds correct.
