Point is the same and a Chinese optic brings other problems for me beyond just quality. If this was cars it would be like talking up Porsche Cayennes. They are fine cars, but they are out of my daily driver price range, and I am sure I am not the only one. The original question was about low cost LPVOs. The burris and a few others come up often under that topic. The Steiner has priced itself out of that range. I am sure it was a fine optic when it was priced at or near 500, but they are not that now. 580 is the cheapest I could find one.
So if you have used a Burris rt-6 what are the shortcomings? I can tell you from my view the P4xi shortcoming is price, and that is not insignificant in the land of budget optics. They have priced themselves out of that range and in my mind are mid-ranged optics now. I have used a vortex pst2 as well and would not have a problem using one of those with a little added cost, but beyond that i'm out for a budget optic. That is where I draw the line. I am sure the Steiner glass is better, but the rt-6 allows me to spot shots at 100 yards with a .223 with no issue and i have shot it out to 700 yards with no issue other than my poor eyesight.
I am not trying to start a pissing match, but it's like arguing apples and oranges when we are talking about 2 separate price points.
