I am looking for some input regarding shoes for the range. I am 59 years old, 160 lbs in “good” shape. I have a right below knee amputation so most of my stability comes from my left ankle/leg. With that said, it does not slow me down nor do I have a limp when I walk so my stride and gate are “normal”.
I am not runnin and gunnin or participating in matches but I do plan on taking some long distance training classes out west which will require me to do some humping with gear. As mentioned before, they will mostly be used at outdoor and indoor ranges.
I am leaning towards the Lowa GTX, https://www.lowaboots.com/mens/task-force-tactical/zephyr-gtx-lo-tf-black. I tried them and they feel good but it is difficult in a store with flat floors, one leg and in 3 minutes to know how good they will really support. I have considered a mid height but want something light weight I think. If anyone has experience with this shoe, I would appreciate any feedback. Or if someone has other suggestions I would like to hear it.
The good thing about having just one foot is that only one shoe has to fit and it doesn’t matter if the other sock has a hole in it. Sorry, my attempt at humor.
