lower receiver issue!!!!!please help?

I duracoated my lower and while installing the bolt catch release I ran into an issue as my duracoat got in the hole where the bolt catch buffer goes. I cleaned it out and it seemed ok but when I put the buffer in it. and pushed it in to install the bolt catch release the buffer wont come out of the hole.meaning its not moving as it should and its now almost flush with the hole and I can not get it out!!!!

For future reference, mask off holes and moving parts to prevent situations like this. If the buffer is steel you could try a bad ass magnet..or get a toothpick and superglue it to the plunger. Maybe it will hold strong enough for you to extract it. Keep fiddling with it..

Have you tried putting some paint thinner or oil around the buffer to see if it will break down the paint?

thanks I will try - but its duracoat? or doesnt that matter? Im gonna try some oil for now. but its really jammed in there. that spring is not pushing back at this point from the resistance I am getting.

glad you did. not a duracoat fan myself - goes on too thick and not good for tight tolerances
