Gunsmithing LRI Tenon thread pitch question

Years ago i had a Rem 700 SA trued up by LRI. I sent 2 Bartlein M24 barrels. 1 in 6.5CM, the other 30 cal I had chambered in 308 Bisley (slightly different SAMI specs than 308 win? Been a while, so i forget why I went that route) I have been shooting the 6.5 since then, and have been enjoying it.

I am considering selling the 308 barrel (unused) but not sure if thats possible. When a smith trues an action is the thread pitch the same for all rem rifle, or is it a case by case basis?

The actions are all run with the same program and checked with thread gauges, but the barrels are still fit to each action individually. The barrel thread program has holds in it that take .001" off the thread dia. Each push of the button and check fit between each pass. Looking for the tightest fit without interference.

So there's no way to guarantee that your barrel will screw into anyone else's action. Also, head space depends on how deep the machine cut the lugs on the mill, how deep the bolt face got cleaned up, how much the bolt lugs got cleaned up, pre-existing tolerance stacking, and how thick your recoil lug is.

It'd be a gamble, even with another LRI action if it fit or not, is what I'm saying.

ETA: being m24 contour there may be enough meat there to set it back and start fresh and you maybe could sell it as a blank

What is different about a cnc that will allow the same carbide cutters that we use on manual machines to take a .0005 cut? Regardless of rigidity, seems to me that any tool- especially carbide- would just rub...

How much does your manual lathe weigh? How rigid is your toolpost/compound/carriage/bed? What RPM are you comfortable threading at?
I do use the same inserts in the turning center that I used on my manual for ever, but the turning center has several advantages, mainly rigidity.
Also, not everyone uses the same inserts.
