LSW versus RSW

In the old days there was a place for "dumb questions" and that is where this thread probably belongs.

I am left handed and have two Kahles scopes, each with windage on opposite sides. Which is the recommended side for a left hander?

It is said that your support hand should do the work so your strong hand is free to run the bolt and work the trigger. I have a LSW kahles and I’m a righty. I like it a lot but I honestly prefer using my right hand will likely stick with RSW. I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer here. It’s just a preference. I like being able to support the rifle with the bag and make adjustment and adjust with my strong hand. That’s just me.

Speaking as a Lefty, on a Khales it doesn't really matter with that top parallax...
But I would choose right side windage, so it's in view to check zero, and that's how they advertise them, fwiw.
Do you ever dial wind? If so, right side makes sense. If not, like most, it don't matter.
I've always wanted to try the new DLR 5-25 as a lefty, but haven't bit the bullet yet...

Support hand does “support” work. Which is just that, supporting the rifle.

Strong hand operates rifle. Including parallax and turrets.

Not as big of a deal with a kahles for a lefty, as has been said, the parallax location is super nice for a lefty. I prefer RSW because I can use my support hand but one of mine is LSW and it doesn't bother me. I don't dial wind anyway so, it doesn't matter much, which is why I have not swapped out my LSW 525 for a RSW, but I do like the RSW a bit better.

Lefty here and my 525 has a right side windage. I believe that’s what Kahles recommends too.

Rats! I have a RSW Kahles but its MIL and I was thinking of going back to MOA (too old to change). No wonder it felt more normal.

I don't think it really matters.

How often are you dialing your windage turrets? For me, it's only when I have to zero/re-zero a rifle+scope, or the rare case of dialing wind when shooting movers.

I rarely touch my windage turret otherwise. I prefer to hold wind, not dial it.

I have Kahles with left-side-windage. I am right handed. The windage knob is in front of my left eye, easy to see. My left hand can twist it leaving my right hand to operate the bolt and trigger. My left hand can also manipulate the parallax control. I cannot easily reach a right-side-windage knob with my right hand and I can't see the numbers. When shooting, my left hand drops and squeezes the rear bag in order to control elevation. It took a while to get used to that but it works for me.
