Bought it. Loved it.
Shoots 4-5” groups at 200 yards with almost everything even cheap stuff.

Maybe reloading some heavy target bullets would be more precise. I tried.... and wasted 600+ smks/Amax/bergers etc... Nothing. No improvement in accuracy worth reloading for.

I tried some 55gr screaming Vmax loads that are for my Single shot 223 and BOOM! Super groups! WTF?
So my thoughts are- that I found a load where the bullets is traveling fast enough that I dont have time to torque the gun when Im holding it.
Thoughts?

I think the few thousandths of a second in the barrel and anything you might be doing within that .003 of a second are less likely to be the cause of the difference in accuracy and your barrel simply preferring that load more likely to be the cause of the difference in accuracy.

My BCM 16" ELW barrel shoots the best with 53/55gr VMAX, usually around 1" 5 round groups at 100 yards. 77gr Magtech and 69/77gr IMI tend to shoot 1.5" @ 100yds in the same barrel. FGMM might do slightly better but not as well as the VMAX. I have chosen to shoot the 77gr Magtech load in this rifle because it offers the accuracy I need and better performance for shooting steel out to 600 yards.

Good to know. Thanks. I was scratching my head because the varmint gun has a 1:12 twist. I thought the 1:7 would be too fast for a light explosive bullet.

I run the 40gr Vmax in my 1/8, shoots great and doesn’t tear up fur. I like Benchmark and 4198 with the light bullets, have you tried 8208xbr with the heavies?

The whole twist rate/bullet weight thing is a load of shit from everything I’ve seen, just as long as the bullet doesn’t come apart.
