I am pretty new to the forum and have been really enjoying the discussions on here. I wanted to get opinions on the LWRC M6A2. I have an opportunity to pick one up locally. It is about a year old and only has around 100 rounds down the pipe. Is $1600.00 to much for this. It has a bipod and and a couple magpul mags. I am a bit of a novice in the AR world so your thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: LWRC M6A2

$1600 is a steal on an M6A2 + accessories. I've got one and it hasn't failed me once. I can't find ammo that it won't shoot reliably.

It's LWRC's best selling model, and one I always recommend. Get one and you'll never look back.

Re: LWRC M6A2

Explain to me what I am getting with the LWRC. I know from reading they operate using a short stroke gas piston system. Is this the reason for higher initial cost or are there other extras on these rifles?

Re: LWRC M6A2

I'm new here too but I second what's been posted concerning the price - $1600 is one heck of a deal. The only thing that would make it sweeter is if it was for an M6 IC . . .

Re: LWRC M6A2

I paid $1200 for just my M6A2 upper. Jump on that as soon as you can. As for your question about what you're getting with the LWRC, one of the reasons they're a little pricier (aside from being very accurate and extremely high in quality) is where a lot of companies are new to the piston driven system after spending years making direct impingment, LWRC started from the beginning make the short stroke piston system and at this point have gotten the system down perfectly.

Re: LWRC M6A2

Ok guys I'm jumping on this. He is adding a scope and scope mount for the M6A2 for another $275.00. I don't think I can go wrong with this purchase. Any other thoughts and even mods for the M6A2 would be appreciated.

Re: LWRC M6A2

Yes, that is a huge steal! My first AR was a M6A2 and a put just under 1000 rounds through it before I sold it for $1900. I still shoot with the guy I sold it too and he thanks me every time for selling him such an awesome AR.

Re: LWRC M6A2

Heavier ammo will be most accurate, since it's a 1:7 twist barrel - but it will shoot all of it reliably. You got a good deal. Nicely done.

My SPR loves the FGMM 77gr Sierra Matchking BTHP stuff, but I feed it a steady diet of whatever is cheap.

Re: LWRC M6A2

I'm staying on this thread because I purchased the scope with the LWRC. What is your experience with the Nikon M-223 scope. Is this a good choice for this rifle or is something else more appropriate?

You talking about the 1-4? They have small objectives and are usless in the dark b/c there's no illumination. I guess it all depends what you wanna do with it. If it's just for the range, it's probably gtg for you. You get a lot more by stepping up to a vortex that would give you some illumination.

BTW, m6a2's are nice guns.

Re: LWRC M6A2

The scope is a 2-8x32 which will serve the purpose for the moment. Will be good for target and varmint applications in my neck of the woods.
