Looking for a suppressor host for a HD gun.
M&p 2.0 45 is $611 and comes with a rfx15 Viridian green dot. Only downside is 10 round mags.

FNX is $1100, no red dot and 15 round mags.

Worth double?

S&W will still be supporting the M&P’s in 10 years and further so you’ll be able to buy mags and parts down the road.

FN will be FN and stop supporting the FNX as soon as they decide they want to make something else to try to win a contract that they’ll lose and then pawn the product off to the commercial market and rinse and repeat.

I wouldn’t buy the FN if it was half the price.

Why not just get a 9mm like a normal person?

I've shot both and didn't really care for the FN in my opinion. It was just blah. 2.0 was better for me, but I didn't buy either

Just about anything is better than an FN. There is far more aftermarket support for the S&W.

I remain steadfast in the idea that in the .45ACP game, that if its for serious shit HK is the way to play. Short of that, the only other crew that had their shit together for a modern polymer frame .45ACP is Smith and Wesson.

Between those two caliber choices I'd rather have more ammo over bigger bullets.

Nope...well, can't say I've given a fuck about .45 since the CZ P10 came in anything but 9mm...didn't know that was a thing.

Hard pass on the "whatever glocks in .45ACP". Glocks in 9mm from 19 to 34 in NOT gen4 ....fuck all the rest.

If they’re not thread models get an OEM threaded barrel and feed them 147gr Fed HST or Speer GDHP and it’ll do the same thing.

Yep but good luck putting a decent light on one without some stupid adaptor and then not being able to reach the switches. That’s their downfall.

HK45 full-size for the win. Those extended levers help. Carried a full size hk45/300 for many years in an SLS bucket. If the loss of 2 rounds from the USP is a problem, they have the wrong chambering

45ACP Glocks have always worked.

I have cared for some that makes me respectfully disagree. Variance in .45acp ammo between “duty” and range ball between different makes being a factor.
But would happily take one over any of the 40 cal Glocks for the long haul.

I’ve not shot any of them, but I did hold a new M&P 10mm (assuming same grip frame), and it felt way better in the hand than the other two (granted, I didn’t try all the grip inserts on the CZ or Glock).

I did shoot a Gen 5 20 and was amazed at how soft shooting it was. Could’ve been weak factory 10mm fodder, but it functioned fine.

You did not ask but I just bought another HK USP in 45. 12 rounds standard magazines with plus five extensions. The only thing I am brooding about is getting the slide cut for an RMR at Wright or Langdon.

I bought an M&P 2.0 9mm for my now ex-wife. It is a very nice handgun. You can buy 14 round mags for the M&P 2.0 in 45 ACP.

Not a 45 but I've had a S&W m&p 2.0 in 10mm and have been very satisfied with it, did a few mods for reliability, mag springs , better sights, stiffer recoil assembly and extractor, carried it for a fishing trip to Alaska last summer , didn't install a red dot even though it's cut for it ,15 rds and can stop a grizz if needed ,hard to beat.

FWIW here’s my opinion.
I have and absolutely love my fnx, red dot, light and obsidian 45 make it a heavy bulky package but I still carry it hunting (hush holsters are the way to go when it comes to carrying that pig with a can on it). I have put probably 1500ish rounds thru it since I bought it it about 6 years ago and it’s been 100% reliable for me shooting whatever fmj crap and sig v crown hollow points, I even shot a deer with it last year haha
