Gunsmithing M14 stock for trainer-Any Help???

I have been thinking about trying to put a M14 stock on a 10/22 build for a trainer I can really sling up.

Has anyone tackled this? I am not looking to cut the stock down. I have a 24" barrel on hand so it should look about right.

I am looking for advice, suggestions and experience......Any and all help will be appreciated.

Or you could order a stock from the CMP and not have to deal with Fred's poor customer service.

I have an old m14 beater stock ging to try this with first..

it looks like I need bed a block to bolt the action to....

I have taken the stock liner out and in the process of removing the oil ....

any and all suggestions and tips are more than welcome...
