Lots of people do. I'm not saying they aren't a good stock, I have issues with the ergosi actually quite like the HS precision stock.

Then why do you use it with your 700 that isn’t an M24?Lots of people do. I'm not saying they aren't a good stock, I have issues with the ergos
Because it was my dads match rifle before he passed away. Then why do you use it with your 700 that isn’t an M24?![]()
That is pretty cool. But this rifle has nothing to do with the M24 thread? Why not start a thread about this rifle and the history of it. That would be a cool thread. I don’t get why you posted on the M24 thread. I am not saying it in a mean way. I am just saying that this thread is about M24’s. Let’s keep it that way. There are so many threads you could post the rifle on here.Because it was my dads match rifle before he passed away.
Because it is a long action rem 700 with a .473 bolt face, in the proper stock with an m24 profile barrel. That is pretty cool. But this rifle has nothing to do with the M24 thread? Ok thanks for explaining. It’s a nice rifleBecause it is a long action rem 700 with a .473 bolt face, in the proper stock with an m24 profile barrel.
The rifle itself is very close to an M24 A2, with exception of the chambering (6.5x55SE) and the MARS rail.
pretty cool this one is cut for a mars rail. looks like the indent from the side piece is visible in the top foam.System 2:

I'm not quite sure "Holy Crap" begins to cover it.sold my EuroOptic ASA1987 m24 and got a G prefix m24. I went a different route with this build and cloned a late ranger m24. Optics are Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x40mm F1 M3 Mildot.
you are a big influence on my current m24.I'm not quite sure "Holy Crap" begins to cover it.
Phenomenal set ups both.
post photos of your bolt.I would be interested to know if everyone has different numbers under their bolt handles. I saw a photo of one on a different website and the numbers are different then mine. Wonder if they could have been the military serial number that the bolt came from?
Remington stamps the last 4 digits of a rifles SN underneath the bolt handle after headspacing.I would be interested to know if everyone has different numbers under their bolt handles. That circular area in the optics case originally held the sunshade, which was later relocated into the deployment case. Then the circular foam cutaway was removed so the EMA Laser Filter could be stored there, and its rubber protection caps (red cap) got discarded. The Flash/Blast Suppressor is normally stored inside the rifle case, but is often found in the rectangular foam cutout of the day optics case, or more commonly in the base latrine. What goes in the small circle in the optics case, next to the red filter thread protector?
This is an older post, but what I think ilikebmxbikes was referring to is the small circular cutout about 3/4" or 1" in diameter in the first attached pic (See white arrow). I have the iron sights rear aperture sitting in that small hole (to the left of the red lens cover), but that is not correct as that hole is for a cleaning item. (You are correct re the larger round cut-out, but he was referring to the small hole on far left of optics case - see last attached pic). That circular area in the optics case originally held the sunshade, which was later relocated into the deployment case.
My misread on the correct hole. Thx for correction info. This is an older post, but what I think ilikebmxbikes was referring to is the small circular cutout about 3/4" or 1" in diameter in the first attached pic (See white arrow).
What is supposed to go there is most likely the small bottle of lens cleaner solution shown in the original TM
Hope that makes sense as to which round cut-out the original poster was referring too.
Correct, one is a cut for the front of the MARS and the other is the indent from the little attachment wing.My misread on the correct hole. Thx for correction info.
ilikebmxbikes, regarding the carry case, are these the areas that identify one cut for the MARS rail?
Very nice
i wouldnt hit that thing with any paint. looks pretty bad ass. if you are tempted to paint it, i have a cleaner m24 take off stock i would swap you + cash for - but again, i think ur stock is beautiful.Mine didn't come with any left-over cool paint, hardly any left and what's there is green. I have been tempted to give it a krylon treatment but just haven't gotten around to it I guess... I did manage to score an Eagle stock pack that was used in Iraq.
It shoots great, but mostly just hangs on the wall... haven't shot it since June of 2020, less than 300 rounds thru it as I always seem to take an M40 of some sort to the range instead.

What reticle in that S&B 4-16x PMII?Very nice. Someday I'll summon the energy and patience to try and put a deployment kit together.
