I recently received my M249 SAW Conversion Kit for the Ruger 10/22 from American Gun Tech and I must say, I am impressed!! This is the review of that kit for all of those that would like to see what all comes with it: All Came In a nice Case

Came UPS after a 3 month build time, I was a little skeptical at first hoping to God that it was not going to be a plastic airsoft setup....I was surprised that the shipping weight was 30 lbs...

Everything was well packaged, took me FOREVER to unwrap it all

Re: M249 MK 22

Included in my 90% metal (aluminum) kit was the trigger pack, all modified and extended trigger ready to go.

The Standard M249 Forearm or Grip

...And the "Para" retractable stock, made of metal

Next, it came with a pre-modded Ruger 10 22 barrel, with 1.36 Inches removed and threaded for the flash hinder, with the integrated fully operational carrying handle

Someone did their homework on this one, it is one of the best looking setups I have seen out there... oh and here is my bonus: Check the serial on this one

I REALLY want to get a Ruger 10/22 receiver with 002 in the serial, but I guess thats not in the cards right now... anyone got any good ideas let me know

Re: M249 MK 22

All aluminum except for the stock, this is going to be one awesome project... Here's one with the bi pod locked down

The top of the receiver opens up, giving you access to your ruger receiver and trigger pack

I must say I love how they did the rear sights, they are so easy to adjust on the fly

So What do you guys think? This is my first review, any pointers would be greatly appreciated. If you all would like to see any more pics and have any other questions then fire away

Re: M249 MK 22

nice.

can you take more pics around the trigger area? top shots and bottom shots. id like to see how they cut the holes out in order for you to drop in the action.

it looks like the cut off the trigger guard?

i have an A&K M249 but paid $100 for the stock. full metal

Re: M249 MK 22

this is an all Milled chassis and the trigger guard on the trigger pack was removed to allow it to drop in nice and flush, there is a trigger guard on the saw already. It was made for a Ruger 10 22 from the ground up. there are some guys that did the airsoft cutout for a 10 22, check tactical22.net and ar15.com for those.

Re: M249 MK 22

wow really? they made this M249 from scratch? i couldve sworn thats an airsoft shell.

ya im one of those guys that does gutted airsoft dress up kits. ive already dremeled my M249 shell and there's not much to cut besides the floor for the magwell and the ejection port.

i also have a full metal M60 (short) and Vietnam M60 (long) for my Marlin 795.

Re: M249 MK 22

I was never to good at dremeling, so I had to wait for a company like this to come along.... but yes ground up designed for the Ruger... check out american gun tech website and see how much they want for one of these babies now that the pre sale is over

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Badshot308</div><div class="ubbcode-body">$1,099.00 for them now. What did yours cost?
</div></div>

$100 for a used A&K M249 SAW plus $260 out the door for a 10/22

so $360 plus my dremel skills

Re: M249 MK 22

So here is an update: ended up having to buy a ruger 10 22 rifle because I couldnt find a place that would make me a receiver with a custom serial(I wanted one to match the "mk46002" that was on my stock) it will be picked up on Monday (10 day "cool off" period ends then, god bless kalifronia) and will be assembled tuesday, pics soon to follow!
