Hi All,

I just got my new rifle finished and I thought I would share a few pictures!

LRB M25 Receiver
LRB 22" Chrome Lined Criterion Barrel 1/11
SAGE EBR Chassis
Completed with all Original GI Parts

US Optics 3.2x17 TPAL MIL/MIL

I have only had the chance to shoot her indoors at 150 feet so far with Frangible Rounds. Went outside in the rain and shot it out to 300 feet before I got flooded out and had to go home drenched. I cant wait to take it out on a nice day and see what its capable of printing!

I will always have a special spot in my heart for M14 type rifles. How long did it take for SEI to put your stick together?

Re: M25 "Crazy Horse"

Thanks for all the kind words!

The QD mount is an ARMS QD Release. Its not very good, but its all I had for a QD mount until I get a something better (Larue?). It also protects the scope tube as I send brass flying so the scope doesnt get scuffed.

The picture was taken outside of Cali actually which is why you dont see the magazine lock and it has a 20 rnd magazine. I dont have any new pictures of the gun since I made it legal and brough it into the state! Looks the same now, except it has a 10 rnd and the paddle release is missing. Basically its a machined magazine release that is cut off flush with the stock and has a small hole to stick a screwdriver or allen wrench into to use to "pry" the magazine lock back. It is new mfg so you dont have to get a old GI one and destroy it!

From the time I sent it to Smith to the time it arrived back on my door was about 6 weeks. I only sent them the Receiver and Barrel. They provided all of the other parts for the build. I will try to make a point to go home tonight and get more details on it! I have been so busy with work I havent had a chance to get any good pictures or write down all of the parts mfg's.

This weekend I will be taking it out again. The first time I took it outdoors it was the heaviest raining day in CA that I have ever been in! The gun was basically flooded and water was pouring out of every part! Yikes! But it functioned flawless and I was still ringing steel at 400 yds every shot (couldnt see past 400). I felt bad subjecting it to such torture, but I figure I built it for harsh environment use and it better be able to take it!

Any words of wisdom this weekend to see what this is capable of shooting? I was thinking of finding a Lead Sled to try and see how accurate it is...

Re: M25 "Crazy Horse"

Currently living in Ca. is what prevents me from making a build like this. Refresh my memory, is the mag release removable/swappable with a drift punch? Another option for using your pre-ban mags is a Kydex grip-wrap, which effectively removes the "pistol-grip" feature... I have my PTR-91 set up this way since I had so many G3 mags.

***I guess you could also have two trigger groups set up differently

Re: M25 "Crazy Horse"

Yea, the magazine release pushes out with a drift pin punch. Takes a couple of minutes! I thought about the Kydex Grip-Wrap, but I shoot so slow that I really dont have the need for rapid magazine swaps because then I would spend all my money buying more ammo if I can reload fast!
