I Want to build a USMC sniper rifle and use a Unertl scope I have. Are there originals out there that come up for sale? Whats the closest thing to an original I can get?

Very nice rifle wilshire!, as for the Chandler rifles, they are nice, just disgustingly overpriced, GAP is where it's at, and TBA is just as nice as long as you don't mind waiting for a year or so.
Mike Lau has done quite a bit of work for me and it is always top notch. His word has always been good on build times and the rifles are correct in the smallest detail. Accuracy is as good as any I have ever seen. I am expection an M40 from him today, shipped Fri. He has done a few M40 A1's for me.
I do not think Chandler makes an M40 spec rifle, but I could be wrong. Del time with Chandler can be very long.
Considering a former GAP builder is now heading up the instruction at the PWS shop at Quantico, I think GAP is your best option. They're the only builder I would consider for both top tier quality and correct build but also for value. I've shot a few Chandler loaners from him, and while they're great rifles they're just not worth the premium price in my opinion. Too many other options out there at a better value with same (or better) results.
Contact USO as they have a run of MST-100's being built right now, and they still had some available as of a couple days ago.
there is a couple rifles for sale right now in the for sale section with return stocks. might be the way to go if you do not yet have a stock. and the wait/price is not too bad. One is a smear and one is the woodland.
Chandler M40s are not spec and they will not build you one that is. For whatever they dont. You cant go wrong with GAP or TBA. Both build excellent rifles.
