Built a new M4 Carbine with a DD M4RAS and Adco CMV CL barrel. That's a nice shooting little gun. I can't say I really shot the comp well as I was prepared for muzzle rise, pulling the gun down, when I probably should have just been holding it up.

The fit to the sound suppressor is very snug. The gun was grouping maybe 2" from a Manfrotto on a Hog saddle at 100 meters with the iron sights. That's pretty good for XM855 ammo and MK1 eyeballs.

The comps are very low concussion. Shooting the comp on my 14.5" barrel sounds no different than shooting a carbine with an A2 compensator, and we've actually sound metered them and found them to be within 0.5DB of that baseline to confirm that.

Are the specs the same as a A2 bird cage. Curious cause my paper work should be back shortly for my HALO and I have started looking at different comps to accommodate.

Dimensionally it mirrors the A2. The M4SD comp is however, OD ground for a more controlled, close tolerance fit within the A2 print, which is .864 +.000-.004. The M4SD Comp is dimensionaly ~.8628" OD.

Did you measure the db from the side, front, or back of the compensator? The primary gripe I've found is from people right next to you (or in the lane next to you). Did you measure for pressure wave to the side of the comp in comparison to an A2?

If the pressure wave thrown off to the side and the sound to the side of the comp is the same, I'd definitely buy one. If it's going to piss off everyone next to me like every other comp I've tried...well, then it's probably not for me

Let me know.

Thanks,

We actually did test sound 1M left of the muzzle with both the blind muzzle, Battlecomp 2.0, and M4SD compensators.

We found unmeasurable difference between blind muzzle and our M4SD Compensator, and the battle comp 2.0 actually increased sound ~1.5-2DB at that location.

By comparison an Ops Inc brake will increase sound by ~7-10DB's at that location, so really the BC2.0 is a marked improvement over conventional brakes with regard to concussion, where our device slightly improves that.

KAC's TTB Patent specifies that their $437 muzzle device increases sound perpandicular to the weapon's muzzle by ~0.3DB, which would be very similar to our results with our device in our testing, as .3DB is very near to immeasurable as a result when sound meter testing.
