Decided I needed a new project so I found a block of Al...
AR-10 prints are numerous on the net with varying degrees of accuracy (from my comparison of prints and measurement of the real thing) but I wanted a DPMS compatible lower so I drew up a receiver in CAD and combined the dims I wanted from a known good AR 10 print with the measurements of the features I wanted to change - reverse redneck engineering at its finest...
Here is the faced off/ drilled billet ready to install into my fixture
Here is the receiver blank after the profile has been made 2d
Passenger Side "finished"
Still working out tool paths so I will need to make a couple more before I am happy but that just means that that I will be happy and broke (wish bcg's and barrel extensions were as cheap as their little brothers...)
