Considering turning my 700 long Action into a .308.!!! :D
What magazines would I use and how would this work?
I have read in a few places that there are feeding complications when doing this.
Maybe I should just go with a 6.5C and be done with it...

I've had a coupl 308 rifles built on long actions. I stuck with the standard hinged bottom metal. It allows me to seat longer, and they feed fine.

Just because you build a LA 308 doesn't mean you are building it to hot rod the 308. Sometimes you have a LA hanging around...

Badger ordnance makes two different bottom metals for the long action that feed 308s. One fits in the standard Remington cutout and the other fits in the Dakota or M24 cutout. Both bottom metals feed just fine from an ai ae mk1 5 round magazine.

To make the switch buy the standard bottom metal and drop it in or have the m24 profile machined out and installed.

They both work with no issues. If you do not have the m24 stock I would go with the standard inlet and call it good. Some minor fitting may be required.

Both are great products. I know triad tactical usually has them in stock. If you get a new bolt pacific tool and gage is usually a good source.
