I've got a bunch of 30 round 5.56mm and 9 mm magazines that I'm looking for a good storage/racking option.

Ammo cans have been the go to for me. If they are USGI (not PMag) I think you can get about 22-24 in a standard .50 can. 3 rows of 6 and a few on the end.

Don't overthink it. Ammo cans are a thing like said above. At work in our assorted vehicles, we have loaded M4 mags in 50 cal ammo cans with the tops removed for quick access in case things go really, really sideways. If you can score a, M249 drum ammo can, that would hold a few more than a 50 can can.

Best source I’ve found for good cans. They always have fat 50’s and other bigger cans.

Ammo cans. Just label the front and stack away. I like 1/2 size 40mm cans myself. They hold 2 1/2 times what a .50 cal can does, and usually cost less.
