MagnetoSpeed V3 Chronograph

Magnetospeed makes good products. I have used a V2 for years and have a V3 also. The Sporter works well but has less features and fit than the V3. Take a look and see which one fits your needs. Either one you choose it will work well for you.

Magnitospeed V3 is good.
Labradar is great.
I have both ... haven't used the MagV3 since I got my Labradar.

BTW ... the Sporter is cheap junk.
Same here, except I have no idea about the Sporter. Nothing wrong with the MS3, but I like running the Labradar with no influence on the bullet. And for me at least, quicker to set up. MS3 and Labradar are equally accurate. I’ve run them in tandem several times, and never seen more than 3-4 fps difference.

I have a sporter on a wiser mount.
It’s consistently within a few FPS of the Labradar I have access to.

I bought a V3, my research on this site found a lot of folks have issues with the (correction) labradar and CS didn’t seem that great.

Also recently announced Kestrel and Magnetospeed are joining forces. I don’t know many folks using anything other than a kestrel.

ETA - i’ll be using the v3 for thw first time tomorrow and will be able to have a better informed opinion then. With my only other use being the light meter ones.

I just got the LabRadar and I wish I got it from the start. Don’t get me wrong, the Magneto Speed is good. buy once, cry once.
I agree, I did the same, bought the lab radar after I got my magnetospeed. Radar is so much better. If you do go with the Magnetospeed, the V3 is the better option.

Those of you that have the V3, have you had any issues with it fitting past a longer muzzle brake? I have one of the longer MPA brake (3”) and the Sporter won’t clear it.
I got my sporter to work on a rifle with the super long sure fire brake.
Later I modded mine a bit to clear my sidewinder with the fat collar.

I have a V3 and love that thing (except the strap design). I tend to be a buy-once-cry-once when I can. To me the V3 is worth the money.

At the suggestion of a member here, I labeled the spacers A,B,C etc. Then I threw in a tiny notepad and wrote what I used for different setups. You only need 3-4 to do most configurations but it makes setup a breeze. If you have a bunch of different can diameters perhaps more.

My V2 and V3 both work on my Jet 4 brake which is a hair over 3”.

What do you mean “won’t clear it”? You have a pic?

Thanks for the info. I don’t own either model. Just going off what their website says. States the Sporter will only clear 2.7 if you have a brake or can. Trying to figure out which model would work best for me.
