Rifle Scopes Magnification Range - Sling Shooter on Rimfire Rifle

Is there a consensus on the best magnification range for a shooter using a sling in a Rimfire PRS/Sniper Match?

I am an Appleseed shooter that also shoots 200 yard rimfire matches with a sling. I'd rate myself as a 3-4 MOA shooter. A local club is running a Rimfire Sniper match and I was wondering if my 2.5-10 is enough power. I'm going to run a bolt action rimfire.

Depends target size, if you are shooting 2 moa targets, I think 4-16x would be better scope, you do not want too much power because using sling in position shooting is less stable, too much power you will see a lots reticle jump. 10x at 200 yards is bare minimum shooting a 22lr if targets are small. OTOH, if shooting larger steel targets, 10x is good enough, as long as the scope is of high quality.
