Magpul AICS 10 round mags??

I was able to order two SA 10rders from lapolicegear site ... I want 10, but I will be nice and let others have some. I will keep waiting for my back orders from other places.

Damn, these things are harder to find than gold! I went all the way down to page 8 of the Google hits, placed orders with two different places that showed in stock, and they both turned out to be backordered. Oh well, emailed Magpul and they said a few weeks on them.

Did you try gtdistributors? I ordered 2 today and called to verify they were actually in stock and they had already pulled them and ready to ship

sorry.. all the vendors on that list that say they are in stock. are in fact out as well...

.... that escalated quickly...who the hell is hoarding these things...

@wigwamitus wanted 10.. who the hell carries 100 loaded in aics... hehe...

@cattleman99 well could be worse.. you can still GO to the match..

I ordered a barrel back in Nov... first one came in Jan.. throat look liked it was cut by a 12 yo a six pack into happy hour on friday.. sent it back..

been trying to break in the second barrel that came back in may... velocities are off by 150 and groups like shit... a 6.5 norma.. first time trying melonited as it was pushed to get me even more than the 3000 I was already getting with R26 and 140's... after 100 rounds,. still shooting like shit.. while cleaning it I notices .. hey that handle isn't spinning as fast as usual.. sure enough 8.5 twist not 8... and here is the kicker.. the vendor doesn't even offer a 8.5 twist in 6.5... mystery.. going back again.... and the bore felt a bit oversize as well.. as I broke out a 6.5 bronze brush as I had been using nylon and thought perhaps wasn't cleaning it fully.. the bristles walked the bore.. pushed it through my old barrel and it had some resistance so its probably screwed both ways...

@CavScout

I find they work great in 308... I got the rifle with one accurate-mag 5 rounder and it fed hard.. needed some lip angle adjustment and it was still scratching brass and took a good push when fully loaded.. polished the lips and it helped a bit but the magpul is like butter.. the 10rounder is easier and smoother than the A-M 5 rounders...

When did these become such a hard thing to find? I bought all mine in person at Sportsman’s Warehouse but never had trouble finding them. I guess everyone’s figured out they’re good mags at a better price.

Just one more thing to buy when I come across them now.

It’s a stock Bergara HMR Pro. Haven’t had the means to venture into the custom realm yet, but it shoots well and takes AICS pattern mags.
I just loaded up my Ruger 10 round aics magazine and it ran flawlessly through my Bergara lrp elite. Same action as yours and a mega orias chassis.

I wrote to Magpul about it back on 30 April ... and they said ...

"
Hello Joe,

Thank you for contacting us.

The 10 round AICS pattern PMAGS are NOT discontinued. We are still producing them. Right now, we are doing our best to keep up with the demand for all PMAGS. We are building as many and distributing them as quickly as we can.

They should be available on our website and at the dealers and distributors very soon, if not already.

Thanks,
Mike

So 40 days later ... no mags in sight from where I sit ... and Optics Planet and Midway and the Magpul website itself ... zero ... and I check at least once a week ...

anyone heard if 'Uncle Sugar' has decided to allow these to become a cage part.. perhaps they bought several thousand
Possibly too fragile for combat use.
I’m old and old-school.
Steel...
I can bend
welded
file
pound on it with a rock to shape it

Take the early model 37 Ithaca 12 gauge shotguns for instant
Made of 100% steel.
Walnut furniture.
Bottom feed.
Bottom eject.
Slam fire..(I like it)
I’ve yet to see one fail other than due to miss use (ie stupidity).

Poly in regards to firearms have their place.
Magazines on bolt action rifle’s for combat use?

The ACIS Brand AI mag like the S&B Rifle Scope (for me any way)
is
has been
and
always will be
the gold standard.

they all have their plus and minus.. and lets face it.. uncle sugar doesn't do something because its the best.. they do it for their own interest or the interest of their buddies that now work in industry ..

personally .. what I like about the poly mags are the smoothness especially on bolt guns and the fact that I don't have to bend, file or dick with it to get it to work.. and that dropping on on the lips generally it works just as before where.. yep.. drop a steel one and you are back to dick with it again..

however.. that said..

the p-mag in the ar has such low resistance.. that on precision hand loads (not glued and crimp rolled GI) the bullets come out with such ease especially as the mag emptied that its like a kinetic bullet puller.. it throws my bullets way forward out of the case.. several thou sometimes more that .010
I use the lee factory crimp die and it helps but it still moves..

and its worse in AR10 platforms.. I camber a round and if I pull it out.. it may not go back into the mag

Just received mine today. They feed like butter in my JAE 700 with Mausingfield action, better than the ARC 10-rounders did out of the box. I will be looking for more.

Which is shorter l..ruger or magpul?

5.2" on the Magpul.

I like the length as opposed to the shorter 10 rounders as I can make all the mag pouches I have for my other primary platform work, a 7.62 AR which I use 20 round PMags with. A mid length KYWI becomes a tall, but it works.

haha I have backorders for 2 mags with midway, 10 mags with OP and 2 mags with LA Police ... if they start rolling in I might cancel some, really only want 12 total. I have 1x5rd to keep me from having to single shot 'em now.
