I recently ordered an AR ACS-L stock and MOE + grip in ODG and found the color matching to be poor. The grip looks tan compsred to rhe stock in mist light. Anyone else see this issue?

MP customer service response:
"...the color difference you are seeing is normal. As the over molded material on the MOE + is different than the ACS-L and therefore you can have a difference in the shade, the MOE+ will tend to be a lighter shade of our OD green than the rest of our products."

I would have appreciated this acknowledgment on their Website so I could make a better informed decision.

Am I just too picky?

Here is one of the pics I sent magpul.

It happens...generally from lot to lot or product to product just as the folks at Magpul indicated. I have seen it happen many times over the years and I don't find it to be all that big a deal. Its a known issue that's been discussed at length in the past re: Magpul products. As for the advice to buy a MIAD...don't bet on it helping the situation as I have had multiple MIADs over the years that were off in color when compared to various buttstocks including the PRSs, CTRs, and UBRs. To me...not a big deal, but opinions will vary. I'm not defending Magpul or the lack of "match-up" between colors/products, but again...it is what it is.

If you are unhappy with the differences between the color on the collars vs. the cuffs on your rifle, you can: a) ditch the Magpul stuff for something else; b) have the rifle coated/painted; or c) learn to live with it. They are tools...not beauty queens...and they should be treated as such. They'll function identically regardless of how "off" you deem the color match to be. ;)

Good luck with your rifle. Hope you get things squared away to your satisfaction.

Only the fashionable zombies will care.

Seriously, that's the breaks when you mail order. If you would have bought them from a storefront......you know where I'm going with this. I don't see much sympathy headed your way from the group. Accuracy will not be affected, just shoot it.

I seriously don't even know what color stock I have on most of my ARs. I never seem to notice while it's mounted on my shoulder and I'm looking through the sights. But hell, I just shoot my rifles. I've never taken them to a fashion show, or displayed them outside a Barbie dream house while secretly looking longingly at my Ken dolls.

If that upsets your fashion sensibilities, maybe you shouldn't have a big boy rifle. ;)
