BASIC SNIPER AND FIELD SKILLS:
• Mission and Purpose of the
Law Enforcement Sniper
• Legal Aspects of Law Enforcement Sniping
• Observation and Target Detection
• Actions on the Objective/Crisis Site
• Collecting and Reporting of Information
• Selection, Occupation and Construction of
Rural, Urban and Vehicle Positions
• Camouflage, Individual Movement
and Stalking Skills
HARDWARE/KIT
**All students will be expected to train using appropriate
call-out gear such as helmets, body armor and any other load
bearing equipment that is standard to the students' unit SOP.**
• Front and Rear Rifle supports. (Bipods and a bean-bag)
• Rifle Cheek Piece (If the weapon's stock is not adjustable)
• Rifle Cleaning Equipment
• Rifle Sling
• Weapon Data Book (Provided)
• Pen/Pencil and a Notebook
• Eye and Ear Protection
• Sturdy footwear
• Clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.
(We will shoot rain, shine, sleet or snow. Please be prepared and check the weather.)
• Baseball or Boonie Style Hat
• Water Hydrating Device
• A pack that is suitable for carrying all of your range gear.
• Range Chair (All classroom instruction will be under field conditions.)
• Ghillie Suit (Or other appropriate rural camouflage system.)
• Camouflage face paint.
• Garden Shears
• Tripod to utilize as a shooting support
• Urban Hide Kit
(Not necessary to attend, but if your department possesses one please bring to the course)
• Shooting Mat (Recommended but not required for attendance)
• Personal Ballistic Computer/PDA or your weapon/ammo ballistic data
(Recommended but not required for attendance)
• Personal Weather Station (Kestrel)
(Recommended but not required for attendance)
• Spotting Scope and Tripod (REQUIRED)

Magpul Dynamics does not recommend students to utilize the Sierra 168 Grain HPBT Matchking projectile for the Precision Rifle 1 or 2 courses. This projectile experiences dynamic instability at extended ranges and does not produce consistent results at transonic flight speed and below.
