Magpul poly AICS mags and 6 Dasher

How do these poly mags work in terms of feeding, etc. with the BR family of cartridges?

Or is stepping up to AI brand mags and one of the mag kits a better option (primal rights, PVA)?

The pmags are very smooth and reliable. Im not sure how they would be with the BR family, but I'm assuming they would be fine. They're bomb proof, too.

Really depends on the stock+action+magazine and fit. It may work well, but it is all custom. We have a friend running Magpul mags in his dasher without any issue. But it can be hit or miss. Dasher will run out of a standard AICS magazine, you may need to play with the feedlips to get it to feed consistently. I have not had good luck with the kits available, the followers tend to nose-dive. The kits are really only required when running 6BR, Dasher shouldn't really need them.

When I purchased my Magpul AI mags I was curious how well they would feed. I asked the guy at the store if we could try some out in his rifle out back and he did. He used his Surgeon 591 with AW cut in a JAE chassis and was feeding his 6Dasher rounds beautifully. That was only 10 rounds from that one mag though, so not sure how well it would do over a longer period of time. I have been using them for a year or so with my 6.5x47 and I will just say that I try to use my AICS mags when I can. I have 4 magpul mags and while they do work they seem to have issues from time to time. These mags have cycled about 3000 rounds into my action and have seen quite a bit of mud, rain, sand, rocks, and grass.

The Magpul AI magazines are awesome when it comes to feeding. Plus they are less than half the price. Ray

+1 on Delfuego's comment...definitely depends on stock/action/magazine presentation.

The PMAG 7.62 AC 5 has been flawless feeding both formed Dasher and 6BR fireform loads in my 700SA/BC Medalist/PTG stealth system.

I couldn't get them to work very well in my TL3/Dasher. I am using stock AICS mags with feed lips ever so slightly tweaked.

This will be a TL3/ Dasher as well. Stock is JAE-700.
In your AICS mags.. are the rounds all the way at the rear of the mag, or do you cheat them forward?

Thanks everyone for your input.. sounds like a guy just needs to try them all to see what works best for your configuration.

I've got a PMAG to try so will pick up an AI AICS as well.

Are the AW worth a shot as well?

Yes. I haven't run around during a comp yet with this gun, but so far this setup works well shooting prone. First match with it is end of the month.
