I've read that some people put a little bit of grease on the spring to help with the noise. Is this recommended or no? The noise in mine is actually ridiculous to the point where its become annoying to shoot my AR. I didn't have this problem with a collapsible stock at all. Fo those of you who have this same issue is it something you just learn to deal with, is there a better spring out there, do you put something inside the stock to keep the spring from bouncing around yet still allows it to cycle?

I have DPMS internals in my stock.

Re: Magpul PRS "sproing noise"

Its not the magpul issue its an A2 stock issue.... I have had it with normal A2 stocks, the JP laminated thumbhole stock, and Magpul stocks. Best guess is just get used to it. I have heard of grease on the spring but seems like a hillbilly fix...

I have also heard of using a carbine buffer/spring and getting the delrin spacer to go inside the extension to make it compatible. The Delrin spacer was originally designed to help run a 9mm upper on a A2 lower.

Yeah, everything is rifle length. You're a lucky man then dammit.

I can shoot through sweat running into my eyes, but why do that when I can wear a hat?

Yes, I care.

If you shoot a safe queen, then sure.

If you actually use your weapon, don't do this. It has NO functional advantage and it will attract dirt/grit etc.

Re: Magpul PRS "sproing noise"

I've run Tubb flat wire springs in ACE skeleton, Magpul PRS & standard A2 stocks and they flat out remove the "sproing". Great upgrade, IMHO...

Re: Magpul PRS "sproing noise"

Funny mine made noise for the 1st couple 100 rounds & it went away. Like the looks of the Tubbs though, made have to upgrade

The "sproing" noise on my PRS went away as well. I'm not going to mess with it at this point.
