Magpul announced these last year or even before that. I'm not sure anymore... but it's been a while since it was announced and I have been trying to get one. Finally found one online. For those that havent heard, this is an ARMS17 bipod mount for both Arca and picitinny rails.
First impressions, its much beefier then I anticipated. I expected polymer and instead it's all aluminum. Not a bad thing, as I'm sure itll hold up to just about anything I can throw at it.
It expands both jaws when you loosen the tension screw, so it opens and closes pretty quickly and doesnt require you to manipulate the jaws in any way to free it from the rail when removing it. The tension knob has some nice knurling and does not feel like it will be any problem to get locked down tight.
Grip on arca is good. Ill need to put it through some actually use to see how it will fare across a few rails but on the accuracy obsession chassis I pulled first to test it on, it feels great. It has two lugs that fall in between pic rail sections as well and has a nice fit onto pic.
Mounting it to an Atlas BT10 was straight forward. The mount actually has a bit of a pocket the entire bipod ARMS17 style mount slides down inside, which should make its connection to the bipod practically indestructible. I may pull it off tonight to weigh it and check it on a Magpul bipod.
