I tried to use graphics to help gain a better understanding of the situation, but the attention deficit generation has bred a populace that needs short snippets and video to explain things, otherwise no digging for information will be done.
Since we tend to be ignorant of geopolitical trends here in the US, being isolated by two large oceans, the country to our south also gets ignored. The propaganda public opinion steering machine purposely ignores Mexico because of the role Mexico will play in the future in destroying the United States.
If you look back to the Clinton Administration, they sent 7th & 3rd SFG JCET Teams regularly to train the Mexican Airborne Commandos, El GAFE (Guerpo Aeromóvil de Fuerzas Especiales), whose officers frequently attended School of the Americas at Ft. Benning, and the SFQC at Fort Bragg, in addition to collaborative training with Federal LE agencies.
One of the training packages they were provided was a tailored SFARTAETC CQB course, since the unit was originally stood up to conduct counter-terrorism as a Quick Reaction Force, specifically for the World Soccer Cup held in Mexico.
What happened was that dozens of members of this unit, along with their commander, went to work for the Gulf Cartel in 1999, after 6 years of Clinton-era JCETs. This group came to be known as...Los Zetas, which was a call-sign they used over FM commo during operations.

These guys have training that makes most of your 2-day courses pale in comparison to even the shortened <span style="font-weight: bold">4 or 6-week JCET </span>provided to El GAFE, where a 2-week Close Quarters Marksmanship POI is run around the clock, burning 500 rounds per weapon per day on target vital zones, before they moved into the 2-4 man entry drills for CQB for a week, followed by multiple team entries, vertical envelopment entries, breaching, simultaneous entries, vehicle and sniper support, as well as command and control and other grey/black skillsets I won't mention.
Throw in the fact that they normally use armored vehicles and have belt-feds and Barrett's in their inventory, and you see that you are basically screwed, because of the 1934 NFA and your lack of organization or training once Wilson-FDR Administrations federalized the State Guard units into National Guard, who are almost entirely dependent on the Pentagon for their budgets.
Prepare for being overrun my countrymen, because in this generation, you will likely witness what the Mexican people have been dealing with for a long time now. Do a google image search on "beheadings in Mexico", in case you doubt me.

The cartels ARE the Mexican military and police, in case you haven't traveled outside of the US and haven't been exposed to how things work in 3rd-World countries. Add to this recipe the fact that Federal LE and other 3-letter agencies have seen a 500% increase in foreign Jihadi presence in Mexico, and you can see where this is headed, with Comrade Hussein at the helm.
