Ima keep this short and sweet. Do you guys think p-mags will rebound anytime soon or should I really grab what I can while I can. Local shop has black non window for $13. Really want windowed ones but what the hell...

Thanks

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

Ima keep this short and sweet. If "high-cap" mags were banned tomorrow, would you be happy with your supply?

Yes you could wait until this hypersensitivity blows over....but what if it doesn't?

Your money, your guess...

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

That's a call only you can make. That isn't a bad price on them at all (and you get to buy local and support your local econ.), but only if they meet your needs.

In terms of whether they'll "rebound" soon...who the hell knows. With Magpul releasing the PMAG M3 mags slowly (some folks have non-windowed ones in hand already...the windowed version should be out in the coming couple weeks give or take), I think their production is geared up in that vein for now. Don't know about "other" PMAGs and what new production of the M3's may hold.

There is only so much that any company can do to "ramp up" production to meet the kind of demand that has been seen over the last several days (especially the last 24-48hrs).

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

Pmags Im gonna wait on. I have a decent supply as is, but wouldnt mind just a few more. but FUCK ME, I cant find any CMI M1A mags to save my testicles. I could definitely use more of those.

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

This is exactly the knee jerk reactions that will drive prices sky high allowing vendors to gouge our eyes out while you and everyone else are willing to pay 200% to 400% more for ammo, mags, rifles etc.

Simple economics of supply and demand. You demand everything at whatever ridiculous price they set and they will supply or demand at exhorbitant prices.

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

The world will probably end this week. Get everything you can lolol. Market elasticity will bring prices down eventually but if it makes you feel more comfortable to pick a few mags up, so be it.

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

I'll be honest, I'm thinking I should've bought a couple cases of PMags last month now.

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

I would buy 'em if you can find 'em. There's no way to predict what will happen concerning guns and gun laws over the next couple months.

I wish I could have been one of the lucky SOB's that won a case of Pmags from Magpuls Giveaway.

This post is dead on. If everyone rushes out to buy them the supply goes way down which means the demand went up. Now retailers can set their price on those items. Everyone is shooting themselves in the foot by going out and buying everything they can get their hands on. This is simple high school economics here folks.

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

I started stocking up when the last AWB ended. Hell, I had orders pre-placed. I still have some preban G21 mags I paid $120 for in the 90's. They are gonna be a lot more if the ban comes back.

Yeah, those of us that remember the last one don't fuck around anymore.

That is why when the ban ended I just went magazine batshit and stocked up. Do I have enough? Probably. Will I get more? Probably.

Limiting my collection to Glocks and AR's helped a lot too. Stocking up for this one FAL was a bitch and that was two years ago. Good luck!

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

I would buy more if I wasnt back in this allready Socialist piece of shit state. They have had the 10rd cap limit since I can remember. Luckily I was in Colorado for 16 months...
But I would like more. Just to be safe. If I could, Id be buyin all the hi cap mags and "Assault Rifles" I could afford!!! Lol Im tryin to get out of Kali so I can live where hi caps and AR's And AK's are legal. Im goin to be SO PISSED if I finally move out and The Fed Ban is re enstated. Im hopefully leavin this comin March but am tryin to find a job outta state West of the mississippi. LOL Anyone hirin??

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

I just backordered a bunch.

I did it for two reasons. One, you can bet the NRA is going to use sales data in it's arguments to politicians.

If all this falls through and we dodge another AWB, then I still need magazines to feed my rifles. I am picking them up at Market Price, so even if no ban comes about they will be more expensive next year.

I would not pay some of the moronic prices guys are asking for them, but then again my situation is a little different.

Actually if you had been paying attention the last few years, you would not be posting this question. Not trying to be a smart ass but the writing has been on the wall for a long time.

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

I don't think we'll see P-mags on the local gun store shelves anytime soon. The folks who work in gun shops will snatch them up when they get delivered and/or set them back for their buddies. The only way you're gonna get p-mags in the next few months is by back ordering them from places like brownell's midway etc

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

Pmags were gone from our stores days ago, I bought some of the last ones in the country I could find on the 18th, I got shipping conformation and I am waiting for the mail man.

Midway is now limiting P-Mag v3s to 2 per order....

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

If you can buy the magazines at normal retail price (ex: $13 for a non-windowed magazine) then I'd probably pick up a few. There's no way I'm even remotely interested in entertaining the idea of buying these magazines for $50-60 each. That's crazy talk. Even well into the last magazine ban (say, late '90s to early '00s) you could still buy decent magazines for $20/each. Granted, Pmags weren't on the scene yet, but Pmags have never been expensive to begin with.

If you think they're worth $50-60/each, more power to you. I think that's absurd. But, I'd buy for the $13/each you mentioned.

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

Yes it will blow over if we quit stoking the fire.
If you need some get them as the price is fair and you can never have too many.
I still have a bunch still unopened but not gonna sell at any price, wouldn't gouge someone but more important to me is to have and enjoy.

Re: Mags--To buy or not to buy?

There is a decent buy for mags at Brownells. They aren't PMAGS but the original aluminum mags. I used these in the Marines and used to be manufactured by CProducts and Brownells stamps their name on them. Still a high quality mag and served me well on a multiple trips in case anyone still needs a few extra mags. They are out of the 30rds and only have the 20rd mags in stock. And, if you buy 20+ you get them for $9.99 a mag and free shipping with code "DSR."
