making my own reactive targets, need help

I have some ar500 targets, with holes for bolts in them. I was wondering if anyone has any idea what type of spring/mechanism to use, so I can make my own pop up targets. Have access to welders and torches, so I can do the work, just not sure how to put it all together. I was thinking of bolting them to some angle iron, and have the reactive mechanism attached to that, then that attached to the fram, but I just cant figure out how in the hell to make it all work. Any info would be appreciated.

Im not sure how youre going to make it go back down after it pops up. But you can make something just like a sear in a AR style rifle and a pull string. or just a pin that you pull out of a spring loaded target stand. Think about using RC airplane servos for remote means, OR just buy a pop up target setup.

What style of target? IPSC, Square, etc...?

Where are the holes located?

I've got an idea or two about how to make it all work with angle iron and some other stuff readily available at Lowes or Home Depot.

I just want it so when the bullet impacts, it goes down, and some type of spring forces it to pop up.

Targets I have right now are square plates, holes will be on the bottom, two holes.

the spring needs to be attached below the hinge point on the back side of the plate. when it folds it will pull the spring and then it will stand back up. you will also need to put stops on it so it stops in the upright position.

You can make something like a pistol rack knock them down
and reset them via rope or chain.
You can hung them on some belting and watch the hit the bullet would go threw the belting on a miss and the steel would ring on hits. With the holes you have you can put plow bolts they
are very hard.....

you could just hang them like a gong...or better just drive to the southern border and sit on a ridge for movers.

I make my target stands so they are easy to move around and then reattach the target plate,that hangs from chains or belting. I also use thinner plates on the longer ranges so I get more movement when hit.

Go to a Tractor Supply and get some replacement Hay tedder springs.
