I'm super fucking thankful I took the time to learn a bit about electronics.

Relays, transistors, ICs, transformers, caps, etc. Doubly so for some common circuits like amps, h-bridges, voltage dividers, rectifiers, and the like. Soldering, as well, through-hole and surface mount.

That was a hard path to go down on my own, and pretty expensive, too, but holy shit those skills come in handy all the time.

Of course, combining programming, electronics, and mechanics all at the same time is just about the coolest fucking shit ever.

Thing I hate about being the Renaissance Alpha male stud I am is the notion of "we" changes.

If you are useless "we" maintains its standard definition meaning you "and another person" will be working on a project. The person suggesting "we do" will be using the useless person as unskilled labor or hoping the useless person will have their A game on and might be able to contribute under supervision and guidance.

If the person asked "Can 'we' do this.." is competent "we" changes.

Rather than being a multiple person endeavor "we" becomes "you" buying sheets of 3/4 plywood, loading them by 'yourself' on the family SUV, cutting them up with a jigsaw in a seemingly 300 yard outline with absolutely no straight lines creating witches, cats and shit like that, which must than be painted black by you/"we" so that when Tinas friends come over she can say "we" did it together.
