Maratec XL Bail Out Bag
I bought one for my daughter, but the wife hated it because "it's so ugly", she bought a pretty bag with initials embroidered on and one main pocket.
After about the fifth time of me dumping out the contents of the bag to find one small item, she got the picture that the cutesy bag was a steaming pile of dung. We switched back to the Maratec and all was in harmony.
I now use it as an overnight bag but will end up as my bug out bag in the near future.

Re: Manly diaper bags

My wife bought me one of the Diaper dudes bags in woodland camo. It was barely ever used maybe once. We ended up just using a regular school backpack easier to wear around especially while pushing a stroller and much cheaper. It makes me sad to see all of the diaper bags my wife bought that just sat in the closet.

Re: Manly diaper bags

We have a JJ Cole because a friend of mine from high school owns the company but it's pretty girly.

We just had our first one and it's a challenge even with two of us. I'm glad your family will be there to support him. the first 6 weeks are overwhelming and then you start to feel like you can handle it. Even if you're not there, calls of encouragement and support will go a long ways.

Also, Costco has coupons out from time to time for a pretty good deal on diapers and wipes. Stocking up on that kind of stuff along with easy to cook meals before the baby gets here can make things less stressful.

Another thing is that amazon prime and amazon mom can get you in on some good deals and free 2nd day shipping. A few cases of pampers swaddlers newborn size will go a long ways getting him started. They're pretty nice because they have a stripe in the front that changes color when their wet. I was a nice feature for me as a new dad. You could use amazon and have them shipped to him.

My boy is 10 weeks old now so a lot of this is fresh on my mind. Let me know if you need any more ideas, there are tons of things you could get him.

We picked up the XL EOD bag from Country Comm. With the molle / pals webbing you can add extra pouches where you want them, and it's worked out great.

I have my first on the way. That camo Diaper Dude bag may have just shot to the top of my list. I have been looking at stuff from Mystery Ranch like:

I've always wanted one of their bags, and figured my child would be a good chance to splurge on myself (and probably the last chance I'd get for awhile). Just need to figure out if the Street Fighter has the pocket configuration to get the job done.

I'm digging that XL EOD bag, it looks just like my tacticool diaper bag that I got for the same purpose....not showing up at playgroup with a sissy diaper bag that we had with my daughter.

Check out 5.11 Tactical "Rush Delivery Messanger Bag". I've got one in the sandstone color and its pretty badass, I end up taking it to work the days I don't have the kids, it pulls double duty like a champ.
