I've been working at Manners Composite Stocks for a few months now, and pretty much since I started i've been bugging Tom about developing a mini-chassis system for Savage rifles. For the most part the issue has been for which action bolt spacing to develop it for, but we believe we have a way to overcome that to develop a chassis that would work for both bolt spacing types with a moveable piece to change the bolt spacing to the spacing required. The short action is the action we'll start with, however Tom has told me that he wants a group buy of 50 stocks w/chassis to develop the mini chassis for Savage SA rifles.

The Manners MCS-DBM mini chassis system incorporates the best of both worlds. A mid-length aluminum
chassis and a heavy-duty trigger guard that accepts the time proven AI style 5 and 10 round mags. This
system is made exclusively for us by Badger Ordnance out of solid billet Aircraft grade aluminum and then
Hardcoat anodized black so that it will take a lifetime of punishment. When combined with one of our
bullet proof stocks, we consider this a true bolt in and go system. The sturdy aluminum chassis with its self-
centering bedding system is designed to support a fully free floated barrel for maximum accuracy. This will
work with all Remington based 700 S/A foot print actions <span style="color: #FF0000">(and hopefully the Savage SA soon)</span> with a factory or custom recoil lug with a
thickness up to .312”. The weight of the system less mag is .62 lbs. When ordered with a new stock the
system will come fully installed and ready to go at no additional charge. The system includes grade 5
TORX® screws and one 5 round magazine. Additional 5 or 10 round mags can be order separately.
There are a lot of folks out there that want to get a solid DBM setup for Savage rifles that would allow you to use AI magazines in either 5 or 10rd capacities that looks great, and works as good as it looks. Also, with Manners Composite Stocks releasing the new molded in colors this week at SHOT, maybe it's time to upgrade that stock on your rifle to a new stiffer more accurate stock, and get the mini chassis to upgrade to DBM for your Savage.
I'll do my best with Technical questions, if I can't answer them i'll see if I can get Tom to join in the thread to help out.
So here's the big question, we need 50 orders to get the mini chassis developed. There are millions of Savage rifles out there, thousands of you are on this site, and I only need 50 to get this started, and there is no shortage of AI magazines out there like there are of the other types of mags for some other brands of DBM available.
