Gunsmithing Manners t4a mini chassis

I just bought a manners t4a with mini chassis on here and its bedded for a Remington 700. I am putting a bighorn in it, is there a good way to remove the bedding compound without damaging the aluminum? My current rifle is a 700 in the same stock, not bedded. Is it worth the trouble getting that out or just removing some and re-bedding my 700 in it. Your input is very much appreciated

How is it bedded with a mini chassis? That makes zero sense in whoever did that.

It makes a lot of sense if the mini chassis isn’t touching the action just right. I would try to see if I could chip it out with a screw driver before resorting to a dremel.

Try heat gun and putty knife first, in many cases dependent on what bedding compound they used it gets soft with heat and comes right out.

Hi Pistolpacknpete, Shoot me a pm with your contact info I will give you a buzz, It is going to have to be heated to make the bedding soft. The problem is that you are also going to be heating up the material around the chassis in the stock hotter than we usually like to do. It can be done, you just need to be carful. Worst case is that it might need to be reseated in stock. Is it just the lug and tang or complete skim bed job? Thank you very much,

Have you tried th BH action in it yet to see how it fits? I've built six Bighorns for myself, and a few more for customers, and don't think there's any reason why your BH won't fit just fine in the bedding compound in your mini chassis. It looks like whoever did it was careful & did a neat job of it.
