Tim, the fit and finish on the mini-chassis is fantastic. I powered my new RSR action, dropped it in and was very pleased at how even the transfer was. I did not screw it in so I can only imagine that the fit will be better with proper torque. However, I have sent all the parts for my new build off to my smith and asked him to skim bed the stock. This is a 38 year old GAP Rock that has been through many of my deer seasons, as well as those of my 3 boys. While I have never run over it with a truck, or used it as a club; the stock and bedding have held and after the barrel being set back and re-chambered about 2,000 rounds ago, it still shoots .500-.700, 5 shot groups.
After many Mac Millan stocks, I have just received my first 2, Manners T5A stocks with the mini-chassis. While I have no field experience with the stock, I put a barreled action in it and got behind it on the floor and thought,for several reasons,that no one has anything to compete with this stock.
When I ordered these stocks on December 4th, Tom told me he was going to make his first run on January 11th, so he would have the stocks ready for the shot show. He also told me that he would ship my stocks 12 weeks from January 11. I received my first stock a week early and the second a week late. The man keeps his word. During my wait I had need to speak with Tom, Todd and Christie on more than one occasion and I experienced nothing but patience, professionalism and smiles you could feel thorugh the phone. My sense is that I will continue to use and enjoy Tom's stocks and the friendly attitudes of Todd and Christie when you inturrpt them with dumb questions. I will also continue to use MacMillan and Bill Shehane stocks, they are all well made. But fair warning to all stock manufacturers, you have some serious competition with Manners. He thinks outside the box. </div></div>
How do you like the chassis system btw? I just ordered mine on a T4 and was wondering how well it sits in there.</div></div>
