One optic I don’t see mentioned very often on some of the high priced rigs is a March 3-24. Can find them for less than what some people are paying for other high end optics. Biggest flaw I see is reticle options. Otherwise parallax down to 10m covers what is typically the biggest flaw in what other scope models lack. I picked one up to try out on a Vudoo. Will see if the reticle persuades me to go another route.

Parallax is touchy with them. Maybe not so bad at closer ranges but the gap from 100 to infinity is very small.

I enjoyed my March 3-24x. I would definitely buy one again for a hunting rifle. Just gotta make sure you get the 6283 mils, not the early 6400 (or have a way to account for it in whatever app/solver you use.

I haven't got into rimfire stuff, so there may be more to that subject than I know about.

Absolutely I appreciate the input. Mine was sent back to March to be converted to 6283 mils. NRL22 matches are set up for 0-100 yard shooting so the 0-100 parallax window is wide compared to the 0 to infinity so hopefully I don’t have any issues with parallax being touchy.

bmicek, what was the cost to have this service done?

I’ve been using one with the FML-T1 reticle on my 40-X Repeater conversion for a couple years and really like it. The eye box is definitely tighter than I wish it were and it’s not like other scopes where you can set and forget the parallax after a certain distance, and I understand why so many people bash it. The FML-T1 isn’t what I would consider ideal, but it is definitely good enough. I doubt I would like the reticle if I didn’t have the open center reticle, it would be too thick. For my tastes, it has the absolute best turrets of any scope I have ever used, including Razor gen II and AMG, Steiner M5 and T5, XRS, USO EREK, and a few others. The zero stop is also extremely good. The image is really bright and clear, but has a little CA in mine.

Appreciate the reply. I’m still waiting on my Vudoo so haven’t been able to test mine out yet. Guess I will have to see how I like it. I have the FML-1 with the floating dot so not sure how that’s going to look once I get to shooting paper.

I forgot they had floating dot reticles, I thought the other options were standard mil crosshair style reticles. Looking at the FML-1 it seems good. Both of my other two scopes right now use a center dot, and that has become what I prefer. I might actually prefer the FML-1 looking at it, but the T1 is nice in its own way, especially if shooting something really thin like matchsticks or a .25” KYL target.

The .25” KYL will likely be the deciding factor whether I keep the March for NRL22 or move it for something different. I love the scope just handling it but I’ll need it to perform to justify keeping it. Crossing my fingers that it’ll work.
