I have a Bushnell scope and of course with no zero stop. My NF scope spoils me when I go brain dead during my shooting. I have the new 3.5-21 G2 with monster knobs and i could use a cheater mark.

Does anyone ever mark their hash marks for their zero elevation with : marker, finger nail polish etc. I was thinking green finger nail polish?

My 20 MOA BASE has me on second hash if that matters.

You do know you can unscrew the silver cap and set both turrets to 0 right? It's in the manual. Sorry if that is not what you are talking about

No, what I'm talking about is there are hash marks for each rotation of the turret. So when you dial it up twice( rotate / spin turret) , walk away from your gun, come back, you can see your at 10 mil's. Not at zero.

Maybe Model airplane paint. Good idea.

That's a good idea and cool to know it will wipe off with polish remover. I will be using mine on two guns for a while, might have to get a gold and a silver marker.

I use silver sharpie or a white paint marker, I usually set the turret to zero and stick a narrow strip of masking tape just under the bottom of the turret, than I remove the turret and stick another strip about 1 mm above the first one creating a 1 mm line just underneath the turret, I make this mark longer than the original marks on the scope to identify it and I can see it from the left side, make sure you stick the tape really good so you can get a clean line without paint underneath it. It has work for me for a while on a few scopes.

I have the same scope on my 300, ad once i pop up the turret i can see how many lines are viewable at zero. I then used a paint marker a drew what the lines looked like on top of my scope tube.

Good feedback guys, thanks. I'll head to micheals and get something. Sounds like the poor mans zero stop was invented before I ran into the problem.

If you want to remove it easily like you might be changing guns or whatever use whiteout on a section then when it dries use a pen to draw your line. It wipes off easily if need be, if you want more permanent I have a silver sharpie that stands out pretty well on black tubes that you can take off with solvent later and water doesn't effect it.
