Hi, Just bought a new 4.5-14x50 LR/T TMR.
This is not really big deal but its something that I'm not sure is normal. The elevation turret sometimes does not "sound" like the windage turret. Sometimes every now and again, no click is heard, especially when its going down. It is also slightly more stiffer and "rounder" than than the windage turret. Sometimes two different clicks are heard, I have found out its from the rubber sealing, after removing it the second sort of click didn't happen. Am I being too anal about it?

Re: Mark4 turret problems

No, a problem would be if it turned but didn't move internally. If the scope is new, it may just be friction from the O ring and/or grease on it. Try working it in a little bit and removing some of the the lube. As long as it tracks properly I dont think you'll have any problems.

Re: Mark4 turret problems

Thanks for the help.

I have another question: What is the effect when you have to keep your eye centered at the scope in order to obtain a good sight picture? I'm not talking about eye relief. Is is something to ensure a parallax sight picture? I notice with my Bushnell that I can move my head around (but the same distance from the scope) but still obtain a good sight picture.

Re: Mark4 turret problems

Im a little confused but I think you might be referring to the parallax. The reticle should not move around on the target your aiming at when you move your head. If it does than adjust the parallax.

I have a new 4.5-14x50 with the mildot reticle. Haven't mounted it yet but the rings should be here tomorrow. So far im happy with it but still want to check the tracking on it.

Are you talking about eye box?

Re: Mark4 turret problems

I've owned a half-dozen or so Mark 4 scopes, and while there has been some variation in click feel between each of them, I have never had an issue with "missing" clicks. If I was experiencing what the OP described, that scope would be on its way back to Leupold.
