Rifle Scopes Marking Parallax on NXS

Re: Marking Parallax on NXS

Bigwheels,

If you want to get real fancy I have a suggestion.

PM 6mmfan here on the hide.He owns Sticker Ballistics.Ask him to create a parallax turret sticker for you.

Here's how you do it.Cut a piece of masking tape to exactly match the diameter of your parallax turret. The easiest way is to wrap it around the turret and cut precisely at the seam. Then go out and mark the different distances on the masking tape with a pen.

Then take it off and send it to Dirk and he will make you one up professionally.

I have some regular turret and scope cap stickers I like allot that I got from him.

Re: Marking Parallax on NXS

My site is down right now - sorry.

I will try to hook you guys up with Stickerballistics if you are interested.

I am just getting started, so no money required for Bigwheels and RKSimple this time. (that is you Ryan- isn't it?)

Re: Marking Parallax on NXS

My simple solution for MY needs was to just find the parallax setting at 300 yds at a fairly average temp and taking a red permanent ink sharpy filling in the dot closest to the mark. For closer ranges and for hasty stuff, I am on the lowest power and it does not matter, medium ranges, the 300 setting is a pretty good average, farther away when I have more time, typically, to tweak it, I then do so. YMMV

Re: Marking Parallax on NXS

Here's some pics of Dirk's sticker's.

The reason the windage sticker is the wrong size is that I had given him the wrong dimensions. He sent the correct ones to me but I had some problems with the gun the scope was mounted on,"distracted", and never got to putting the correct one on.

He's got ranging in mils for different size objects on the left side of the sticker.A partial Horus Vision mil grid reticle set for 300Y zero on the right side with a line indicating a 10mph wind hold for the various distances and compensation for a 25 degree shot angle.

The elevation turret has the distance marked in yards 100-200-300 and so on.

The windage knob is marked for 10 mph wind adjustments.

He can customize the stickers for content, size and scale.I won't presume to know the extent and limitations the system offers.

I will say this,I like looking at a glance for quick holdovers and plan on getting sticker sets for some of my other rifles.

Please contact Dirk with all your questions.

Steve
