Gunsmithing Matching numbers AK out of headspace

I know this isn't a traditional AK site, but I know there is some real intelligent people around here, so here is my problem. I have a MAK 90 parts kit with original barrel. Once assembled I checked headspace, which I have done with a few other kits I have built and never had a problem, but this one is out by approx. .018. This is the first Chinese kit I have done. I am using standard Clymer gauges. I have found other kit to be a few over no go and never had a problem, but this seems to much to me.
So my questions is can this be right? If not how could it be out with an original barrel?

Chinese tolerances? Sounds like you need to reset, ream the barrel pin hole oversize, and put in the larger barrel pin. AKbuilder should have what you need.
