I built a 6 dasher on a Mausingfield action a while ago. The thing shoots fantastic and feeds great but during a standard match (65-90rds) I will have 2 or 3 pieces of brass flip around on me and not make it out of the chamber. It has not cost me yet as the few times its happened have been where there was plenty of time to get the case out and press on. I'm wondering if anybody else has this combo and has had the same issue. It looks to me if the ejection port was a little bigger in the back it would function better. I get a little nervous on the short timed stages that it's gonna do that and I'm gonna get hosed. Just looking for advice if someone out there has had a similar issue.

Funny you mention this because I had the same thing happen to me yesterday at the range. The case flipped around and I tried to feed the next round without noticing. Took a little while to fix that. I've only noticed it really happen when I get lazy cycling the bolt. When I cycle with authority so to speak, it always ejects the brass solid. I'm shooting a 6.5x47 so I don't think it has to do with the caliber.

That's the only part I can't remember during the match. I feel like I've got a good routine on cycling the bolt but maybe my problem is as simple as that. With the pressure of the stage/time/wind maybe I'm just not doing my part. I'll try and pay more attention next time out.

Ive had the same thing happen on my MF 6.5 SAUM. I tend to agree with Stag556. The times it has happened to me was when i was looking where I hit/missed and running the bolt kinda half heartily and it would flip the case. The last match i shot with the gun i made it a point to run the bolt pretty hard the whole time and didnt have an issue.

Yeah my 6.5 SAUM will do it, too, if I run it slow. Never had an issue with the .473 class cartridges, though. You could play with extractor tension, but it's a one-way street with a $150 turnaround.
