Took a Greenline Tactical Nightfighter class where I purposely rented a MAWL C1+. I run a full power PEQ-15 at work, so I wanted to see the difference, with a focus on 300m and in.
I fell in love with the switch set up for the MAWL. No spinning dials on the top. Power is via the slide on the body, with the A and B pads. I also have little hands, so the thickness of the PEQ on top of a rail gets to be a bit much to activate easily.
In terms of performance, we shot out to just shy of 300 during the walk back at the end of the class. No issues with illuminator or laser performance at that distance. We also played around with seeing how the laser does at further ranges on some of the hills around the range.
I was very impressed with the C1+, and if I had the option of a C1+ or a PEQ15, I would grab the MAWL based on the switches and power settings.
