Hello all. I am interested in ordering a Mcmillan A-5 for my new PSS, but I have no clue what all of the options mean. Is there a stock options for dummies somewhere that I am missing?

ETA: For instance, Full or Basic inlet, left or right port, etc.

This would be a huge help, thank you. It is a Remington 700 PSS .308. I would like to turn it into a repeater with the 5 and 10 round detachable magazines. It has a jewell trigger, badger bolt handle, and is factory other then that. I will probably call them as well, but this will at least give me an idea of what I need to discuss.

You will have to decide on what bottom metal you will be going with, Badger, Surgeon, HS...all this will determine what they inlet it for.

Since its a factory gun it would be inletted for such topside.

It is right handed. Is any bottom metal MFG better than others? I have tried sreaching, but with no luck. I apologize for my uninformed questions all...

You can't really go wrong with Badger, CDI, or Surgeon. Seekins too but it doesnt take AI mags, only seekin's mags. Which isn't a downfall just a deciding factor.

Both CDI or seekins will save you some cash. I went with CDI.

Re: Mcmillan A-5 options.....?

since its a stock PSS id opt for the standard fill rather than the heavier sniper fill. order it with a remington 700 short action inlet and the varmint or PSS barrel inlet. the bottom metal you choose will refelct what you get the stock inletted for in that aspect. Finish it off with 2 blued studs unless you want flush cups, and some kind of recoil pad which will add to the dollar amount. If it was me I'd splurge ($26) for the already installed bedding pillars. the only other option you might consider is if you want an adjustable cheekpiece, if so the KMW loggerhead is the way to go. hope that helps

edited to add Oh yeah choose a color!

Decide on the color but I'd run the following;

Rem 700SA RH
BDL Bottom Metal inlet or DBM inlet of your choice
Rem Varmint contour barrel channel
Standard Fill (magnum fill for a little more weight if you like)
Standard LOP
1 Bipod Stud
2 Flush Cups located on LH side, 1 front, 1 rear
Decelorator Pad
