I am having a hard time deciding if I want my A5 in the desert camo or black like all my other McMillians. Does the black stock come with the textured grip and forearm like the camo? patterns? It is hard to tell from the pictures I have seen.

As far as I know they are all textured unless you ask McMillan not to texture it.

+1. Everyone that I have ever had in my hands (whether molded-in or solid) has been textured in the PG area and the forend.

As for color...I think you should get a pink one with metallic flake purple polka dots. Uber tactical and I bet you'll be the only one at the range who'll have one like it. And you can probably bet that nobody will ever try to steal it!

Dude...serious...get whatever color you please. If you get a black one and you want a different color/camo later down the road...get it painted.

Seriously man... go Woodland Camo.

I would've sniped (pun intended) this stock if the barrel channel wasn't MTU as I need a Varmint channel for my 700P. I'm getting a MCM M40A1 in Woodland for a somewhat M40A1 build I'm doing. Woodland looks fuckin badass.

All the A5 stocks come with texturing, it is molded into the mold. We cannot do a plain A5 with no texturing as the texturing is not added on later.

I recently got a mcmillan stock with 60% black 20% OD and 20% light gray molded in. couldnt be more happy. Plus, you can always paint over molded on colors but you cant paint on the molded in colors.

I had a black A5 and it appeared to be painted black over a clear fiberglass base. My other camo A5's are color molded into the fiberglass skin. Black finish sanded down pretty easy before it became camo'd.

I would love to see a forest camo along side of a woodland but haven't seen any pics yet.

Here's McMillan Forest Camo:

It's three color: Light Green, Dark green and Brown

Woodland is a four color scheme: Tan, Green, Brown, and Black

go with a Swirl pattern...since you are in Maine you go with 50% OD, 30% Black and 20% Tan or something like that. it will come out looking nice for your environment.
