I'm getting the mcree precision stock for my Rem700. Which site has the best deal for these stock? I only found one and it's $850. Is that the best deal out there?

Re: Mcree precision stock

Talked to Scott myself a few days ago. Top notch guy. And someone who gives back to our sport. I won a folder that he donated at ASC. He donated one for each week. Can't wait to get it in.

Re: Mcree precision stock

I ordered mine direct from Scott. +1 for Scott being a GREAT Guy to talk with.

I dropped my Rem 700 LTR into a McRee ... Great Stock

Will do. Just checking around the net to see what's out there. I'll talk to him first before I order anything though.

Re: Mcree precision stock

HN7,
Could you let me know what Scott's name is on here. I'd like to PM him and ask a few questions. I would call, but I'm in Iraq, and using a phone over here is a pain in the ass. I was in between the TACMOD, RACS (whenever the hell that hits the streets), and Mcree's stock. If Mcree makes a stock with a tube fore-end like the TACMOD and RACS, then I am sold. Anyways, the help is greatly appreciated.

Just trying to build my dream rifle.

Re: Mcree precision stock

Basically what I am looking for is an aluminum chassis, with the options to put rails on the forearm, and a folding stock. Ive looked at JP (they only have short action available and I am chambering my rifle in .300 win mag), and other tube guns as well. However, I'm only pleased with the TACMOD and RACS system so far. Mcree def looks like a damn good possibility though. Mcree has amazing reviews and great customer service from what I have heard. Anyways I am trying to learn more about them (Mcrees site is also blocked by the server over here for some reason).

Re: Mcree precision stock

Last off. I keep thinking of things to add after I have already posted. Has anyone put a surgeon action in the Mcree stock? If so, how did it go for them?

Re: Mcree precision stock

I have had both the AICS 1.5, and 2.0 stocks and currently have a Mcree. I sold the two AICS stocks when I tried a friends Mcree, and for me at least it is a better setup. But like many things in life you may feel differently. The good thing about either of those two stocks is if you decide you don't care for it they sell quick. Both are very high quality, and my personal rifles are shooting a little more consistantly in the Mcree, and they readily accept rails mounts for NV, etc.etc. HTH.

You might look at XLR. Tubular forearm that takes rails and he makes them for long actions.

I'm pretty sure Scott has a holiday special right now. He's been a great guy to deal with. Another vote on giving him a call!

+1 who else would bring 2 BIG ammo cans full of .308 to a fun shoot and tell every one to have at it on his rifles.
